I constantly come getting some food in this spot. I enjoyed the speedy service and well cooked dishes. They never disappoint.

Warm and friendly service, along with fresh, warm and delicious fried chicken & sides!! We will be back!!

The fried chicken here is delicious, as are the potato pancakes and the pie. The fried chicken is how it should be- basic and delicious, crispy and juicy. The mashed potatoes leave something to be desired. The green beans are canned, and that's okay for the price. Personally, I like dipping the potato pancakes in the applesauce. It was my first time experiencing fried green tomatoes and they tasted excellent. I feel the portion size definitely could have been larger for the price, though.The atmosphere is very basic country kitchen, moat likely not remodeled since it was opened. It's not a romantic place, it's not a fancy place, but the food is good and the decor isn't trying to be something it isn't. Hyde Park Hitching Post does not serve alcohol. It gives you the feeling it should be "home cooking," but the sides have room for improvement. The service is friendly.

Country fried steak is a must try!Had to find staff to ask for more water and napkins. Then the vanilla ice cream on our pie had huge chunks of ice in it, which was off-putting, yet no one came to ask us how the pie tasted.

That fried chicken is among the best I can remember in years. My friend had the roast turkey and said it was excellent. Service was quick and very friendly without being "fake". Menu appears to have many tantalizing options. I am already looking forward to going back. Too bad I will probably never stray from that chicken. :-)

This is for myself the absolute best breakfast menu ever. Love the home fries, the staff is absolutely perfect Have only found this type of service in the staff in very good places in Europe. Very clean neat and cozy family oriented establishment. It is very very good and I highly feel everyone to try it at least once. Don't feel you would be disappointed. Atmosphere is very cozy, clean, family oriented.

Service was wonderful, as usually, restaurant was clean food was fresh overall go if you can.

Chicken and waffles are pretty good. Breakfast here is good as well. All around good food and prices.

Ok first off they do not have the best chicken in the world, but it is good. My husband really enjoyed his sandwich and gave it 4.5 stars. My chicken dinner was good, but the mashed potatoes and Garvey was the best part for me. My daughter said her chicken ranch sandwich was good. Our waitress was great and it was a nice homey atmosphere. We will come back another time to try some pie.

Good experience. Food was okay. About what you expect for a home cooking type of establishment. Service was excellent! If you happen to stop in, try the fried green tomatoes.

The service was nice, the food was delicious, especially if you like home cooked-tasting food. The cheesecake looked so good, but it was a little thick and plasticy, at least me and my family thought. The fried chicken, the sandwiches, and the country fried steaks were just the bomb!

They sure brought back a lot of memories. I was once a fry cook at the Munch Box before the owners purchased the Hitching Post! The Munch Box was the BEST greasy spoon restaruant in Cincinnati. It is no surprise to me that the owners are doing very well with the Hitching Post. Many years have passed since I was a fry cook.

Quaint little diner with good food and friendly service. I loved the garden (meatless) burger and split pea soup.

I love this place was raised eating here and have to best memories. The only thing that I dont like is that they changed up the menu and got rid of the classis Texas Jumbo Burger which was my entire familys favorite. After we moved we still would drive 40 miles just to get one. Really would love it if they brought it back.

Love this place ! The prices are fare , food is good & has a sitting at Grandma's house feel . The country fried steak is so good & what I always get. They have a rewards program that's better then more known places. Great local favorite.

Food is always good and hot. I would like to see food a little cheaper, so I could go there more often.

Really does live up to the "Worlds Best Fried Chicken" in which it advertises. Chicken is flavorful, juicy, and cooked to order so it is always fresh. Sides left a little to be desired, but the chicken is definitely meant to be the star of the show. Overall, this location had a very "small town diner" feel, as there were regulars coming and going as I was there. All of the waitresses were very polite and I had no problems with the speed or friendliness of service. Their menu has quite a few options for any type of meal, if you arent looking for chicken. Aside from the sides, the restrooms could have been cleaner, which would have been my only other complaint.

Peggy is one mean lady. Totally put off by her attitude because it was” busy” I totally understand being frustrated but I never understand taking frustrations out on customers. Watched her handle the phone rudely. Her favorite phrase is “no no no no” just absolutely poor hospitality

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I also highly recommend their hot wings. They are huge a very flavorful.

While there are options this is primarily a chicken restaurant. Chicken is tasty and value priced. They also do a lunch and breakfast business Good parking and pleasant staff. They specialize in home made pies.

So, first of all this place makes delicious chicken and waffles and you will definitely not go wrong trying that. Also, they have a wonderful goetta and cheese omelette that I would recommend giving a shot as well. The servers were nice and the atmosphere is great as well. Overall a great place for breakfast or brunch and I will definitely return!

Their food is delicious. Cheese burgers are bomb chicken is bomb and the staff is so sweet. Will come back.

Very homely atmosphere. The wait staff makes you feel right at home. Lots of good choices on the menu. I tried the chicken wings with the sweet sauce and was very pleased

I've never had anything bad here, everything has been very good with excellent service. The food is always good and the pies are excellent to. I just had breakfast there and I had baby calves liver and onions with Amish potato salad and coleslaw also a dinner roll . A great meal by itself . Also My favorite thing is chicken livers and chicken gravy with a dinner roll. Enjoy

Was in the mood for a hamburger and Hitching Post popped up on some recommendations. Wouldn't go back just for the burger but the other food on the menu looked good. Lots of homestyle choices like meat loaf and pot roast. Very few other guests and the ones that were there seemed to be regulars. Definitely an older group of guests. Overall it was clean and comfortable. Food came out quick and was tasty, just nothing remarkable.

We enjoyed this place !!!!! The food came out in a timely manner, my husband ordered the lunch special double deluxe hamburger, my son got the grilled cheese and fruit, and for myself I got their famous chicken slaw and mashed potatoes ! All of the food was delicious. The only hold back from getting five stars for me was the decorations above our table where we were eating were covered in dust, and the floor in the section that we were sitting in was filthy salad al over the floor and trash. The restaurant was not busy at all because we visited at 1-1:30. I think a little touch of clean up and this place would get 5 stars.

I love the space and the food is good and you can't beat the prices

The double decker and fries was awesome!!Turkey and bacon. My lunch partner (who wished to remain nameless), had chicken breast that was fried to order. It looked like a pigeon breast and was dry dry dry!! The claim to fame is "World's best chicken". Her sides were good. Ambiance was great. Service was both friendly and efficient. Comfort food at its almost finest.Great prices.

Tasty, simple, non-pretentious food. Went for brunch, got a BLT and added extra bacon - I was very satisfied. Everybody else in my party (3 out of 4 of us were first timers) was also happy with their orders. Despite having a discussion about how the chicken was supposed to be tasty, we all forgot to order chicken! I'll have to try it next time because I will definitely return.

Always a family favorite. Home cooked meals atmosphere, the chicken is amazing. Good kids menu options. Staff is always accommodating and friendly. Tucked away in the corner of Madison Ave and Smith road.

Always a good choice for on-the-go breakfast. (some breakfast items are avail all day long).Unfortunately they have raised the price of large tea $.40!!No more McDonald's tea for me!No change in $$ of large size carbonated drinks. Does that make sense??
